Spiral submerged arc welded pipe is made of hot rolled coil steel welded by automatic submerged arc welding at room temperature. All the pipes are produced according to API Spec 5L, GB/T9711.1, GB/T9711.2, and ASTM A252-89 standards. These pipes are mainly used in the oil and gas industry transporting of flammable and non-flammable liquid as steel structures.SSAW pipe diameters typically range from 20 to 100 inches (406 mm to 2540 mm). One of the advantages of SSAW is that different diameters of SSAW pipe can be obtained from standard-sized steel strips. On the other hand, spiral weld lengths are much longer than pipe lengths, which are more costly and prone to cracking, porosity, slag entrapment, and bias welding.

Difference between Q235 and Q345:
Q235--Metal structural parts, carburized or cyanide parts with low core strength requirements, tie rods, connecting rods, hooks, couplers, bolts, nuts, sleeves, shafts, and weldments.
Q345 - Good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low-temperature performance, good plasticity, and weldability. Can be used as medium and low-pressure containers, tanks, vehicles, cranes, mining machinery, power stations, bridges, and other structures subject to dynamic loads, mechanical parts, building structures, and general metal structures. It can be used in hot rolled or normalized conditions. Can be used for various structures in cold regions below -40 degree .
If the structure is controlled by strength, you can consider Q345; If the structure is controlled by stiffness, you can consider Q235. Q345 is a little expensive, but due to its high strength, you can save material. Specific choices can be compared from a combination of the above points.
